Vueling, a Spanish low-cost airline, will start accepting Bitcoin(BTC) as a means of payment as per the official statement.
The feature will be available to all the customers of the airline as early as 2023. The airline has partnered with BitPay, a bitcoin payment service provider, to implement the new payment system.
Bitcoin(BTC) adoption remains on the rise as various firms have come in support of the digital currency as they plan to accept (BTC) for payments. The last adoption news comes from Vueling which plans to allow customers to pay their fares through this digital means of exchange.
As per the official statement, the airline will use UATP’s technology, a global corporate travel payment solution owned and operated by the world’s airlines, to enable faster payments using digital means.
“Thanks to this alliance [with UATP and BitPay], Vueling will become the first low-cost airline in Europe to accept cryptocurrencies as a payment method,” said the airline in its press statement.
Additionally, ticket prices will be displayed in Euros, and people willing to use cryptocurrencies for payment will be able to pay for their flight from more than 100 digital wallets. Along with Bitcoin(BTC), other tokens supported by the airline include Bitcoin(BTC) Cash (BCH), a hard fork of BTC, followed by other shitcoins as well.

We are very pleased to have found in BitPay the best partner to offer our customers the possibility of making transactions with cryptocurrencies with the greatest security and reliability,” said Jesús Monzó, Manager of Distribution Strategy and Alliances at Vueling.
Vueling is not the only major airline to accept cryptocurrencies for payments. Emirates, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has also confirmed the acceptance of bitcoin as a payment method, as per a previous report from Finbold.
Bitcoin(BTC) adoption is strongest among luxury brands and retailers as well as high-risk industries which includes travel and tourism. Gucci, an Italian high-end luxury fashion house, is also set to accept bitcoin in stores located in the United States.
