TikTok is taking its musical influence to the next level, by hosting a live music event to be held in Arizona on December 10th.
And it’s signed up some big-name headliners for the concert.
As per TikTok:
“In The Mix is a first-of-its-kind live global music event, bringing to life the music, trends and experiences that our community enjoy and create every day. Headlining In The Mix are four of the biggest genre-defining artists on TikTok and in the music world today: Cardi B, Niall Horan, Anitta, and Charlie Puth. Performing in the round, fans will enjoy a truly unique ‘up close and personal’ experience.”
In addition to the performances, TikTok says that “In the Mix” will “bring to life TikTok’s famous For You feed, with a range of activities inspired by our community’s favorite trends”.
So expect to see a lot of familiar faces of various TikTok influencers also showing up and encouraging participation.
It’s a smart move for the app, which has become a critical consideration for record labels as they work to discover the next big hit. TikTok has already sparked new careers, rejuvenated older ones, and even has some artists changing the names of their songs to better align with in-app trends.
Such is the influence of TikTok, which is why this live integration makes a lot of sense, and it could be the first of many concerts that come under the TikTok banner.
Which could also provide brands with new tie-in opportunities, aligned with the festival theme, or artists who are performing. Because you know that they’re going to get extra attention in the app, which could be a cue for marketers to link into the chatter.
TikTok’ “In The Mix” event will take place at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona on December 10th, and will be streamed globally via TikTok LIVE.
Also, TikTok users will get preference for tickets:
“Pre-sale tickets will launch exclusively on TikTok. Fans who follow the headline artists on TikTok can receive a special code allowing them to purchase tickets from Friday, October 27th at 9AM PT until October 30 at 10:59PM PT. Tickets go on general sale on Thursday, November 2nd at 9AM PT.”
It’s a smart activation, which could be a big hit for the app.
